Fairfield Ladies Golf
The Fairfield Golf Club Ladies Section is a vibrant and active group of women who share a passion for golf. We’re located at the Fairfield Golf Club, a picturesque course situated close to the heart of Manchester, yet in a peaceful green belt shared with adjoining Denton GC, Debdale Park and the Lower and Upper Gorton Reservoirs.
The Fairfield Golf Club Ladies Section is committed to promoting golf among women of all ages and skill levels. The club offers a range of opportunities for women to learn and improve their game, including get-into-golf taster sessions, coaching clinics, social events, and competitive tournaments. Recent taster sessions saw more than 60 percent of those attending going on to become members of the club.
The Ladies Section has a dedicated committee, which oversees the organization of events and activities. The committee is made up of passionate golfers who are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for women golfers.
In addition to regular competitions and social events, the Fairfield Golf Club Ladies Section also participates in inter-club matches and regional competitions. These events provide opportunities for women golfers to test their skills against other players and to represent their club on a larger stage.
The Fairfield Golf Club Ladies Section also supports various charities through its fundraising efforts. We have raised thousands of pounds over the years for causes such as cancer research and local hospices.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, the Ladies Section offers a welcoming and supportive environment where you can enjoy the game of golf and build lasting friendships.
A packed calendar of events!
We run ladies competitions every Thursday and Sunday through the season and the Club’s Friday 9 hole competition is open to all the Club’s members.
We also play team matches in the Tameside League, Bronze Shield, Bell Cup and Mail on Sunday run a Ladies ‘exchange’ with other local courses.

You don’t need any equipment, just wear something comfortable and some flat shoes. It’s a fun way keep fit and meet new friends. Consider booking a ‘Get into Golf’ lesson with our professional, Steve Pownell. If competitions are not for you, just come along and play – we’d be delighted to go out on the course with you, even if you only have time to play a few holes.
Golf is a puzzle without an answer. I’ve played the game for 50 years, and I still haven’t the slightest idea of how to play.
You just have to embrace whatever hand you are dealt. Life is going to go on.
Don’t knock your competitors off the course. Just knock ’em off the leader board.
